Christmas Adventures 2005
Hope everyone had an awesome christmas day/weekend/vacation/season! With christmas falling on a sunday, seems like a lot of people got jacked in terms of how the office divided up the vacation scheme. But hey, we still go some time off right? Spend some quality time with the family, eat some "finger-licking-good" food, open some presents (hopefully), watch some tv/football/sports, and just spend some time relaxing/reflecting with old faces back for the holidays and all that good stuff. So in lieu of that, i present you with another photo entry for the past... 2 months? ... at least for when i remembered the camera.
So in no particular order...
Headed up to Mt. Tam with InReach to have ourselves a small picnic
and had a good time of fellowship on top of Mt. Tam.
But the fun really didn't happen until the drive home
On the subject of food, thanksgiving was a great time sit back, do some reflection, and watch our pastoral staff walking the talk and showing a servants heart
and what thanksgiving feast would be complete without the post-turkey crash?
Praise Night was an awesome evening of prayer & worship. I'm glad we as a congregation had some time to pray corporately and individually, as well as spend some extended time praising our awesome God. But unfortunately, I was too busy doing
to take any pictures of the evening, but I hope people were blessed by the evening. I know i sure was
Over the break, I had the unfortunate opportunity to play the board game "The Settlers of Catan".
For those who haven't played/heard of this game, let me give you a brief synopsis. It's just like civilization, where you're trying to take over the world(map) by gather resources and buying things. But unlike other board games which take about an hr or two to finish, this one is SINFULLY loooooooong. We started sometime around 10, and didn't finish until 1am. And whole time, people who've played the game before kept pounding on us poor newbies
But it's always nice to hang with old high school friends doing stupid things like playing games that take forever to finish (notice the clock)
My family decided on a whim that going to reno on christmas would be fun. It was a lot of fun until we hit traffic and got stuck in some crazy weather. Reno isn't the closest place, but taking over 8 hrs to go 300 miles is just flat out crazy, and most of the time being stuck in conditions like
will make anyone feel
but at least we all got to spend a white christmas in the car talking about the joys of lobster buffet at Boomtown (blech... not recommended, no pictures worth showing), and an extended session finding all kinds of things i never needed to know about teeth from my sister
And this is the future of dental medicine... Lord help us all
Well, at least boarding was a blast
in more ways than one. Sitting on cold windy ski-lifts really does ruin the joy of it all though...
(okay, so that's inside a warm lodge, but you get the idea)
And speaking of warm lodges, nothing's better than following it up with great food
.
And what could be a better christmas gift than spending some quality time in california with old friends after a semester in Texas? Now this is the face of true happiness, rekindling a relationship with a long-lost love
Merry Christmas everyone and have an awesome New Year!!!!
