Sand. Sea. Wind. Friends. Hot Dogs.

Went to coney island this weekend. I had such an amazing time there. Coney Island is pretty ghetto, make no mistake about it, but it's definitely got it's charm. It houses the world famous, brain rattling Cyclone. That ride, built in the 1920's, is still running and still is pretty wild even with places like 6 flags. It's hard to imagine that the old wooden coaster has stood the test of time, the elements, the nasty sea wind, and still runs after over 80 some odd years.

I just want to say that I had an amazing time just hanging out and kicking it with friends. Went and touched the Atlantic ocean, played in the sand, saw my sister totally grossed out when she figured out that the beach was littered with dead jellyfish, enjoyed some "tasty beverages" while munching on Nathan's Hot Dogs, rode some fun and wild rides, had a waffle cone, drove go-karts, ate pizza, found amazing cheesecake, and had a nice stroll cross the brooklyn bridge. Some good memories with friends. It was just fun to see my friends out of the school setting and just hang out doing some ol' fashioned fun activities. Thanks everyone who came for a great time.

Wow... what a crazy weekend

My old roommates all came to the city this weekend, and of course, we had to go out and celebrate. So much happened, and it's all too hard to put down in this little blog, but needless to say, we had a blast. It was just an awesome time hanging out again, especially in a different setting. I think the highlights of the weekend including seeing ryan going buck-wild in a club and seeing han again after a long long time. Just like old times =)

Some highlights of the weekend before i pass out from lack of sleep:
  • Ryan left California... unbelievable
  • Seeing some amazing jazz musicians, as well as getting the opportunity to meet one and finding a hook-up for blue-note. Sweeeeeeeeeeet
  • Hanging out with Troy, Han, and Ryan, all at the same time. Just like old times. But kind of weird hanging out in Yoshinoya's. We all came to new york city to hang out in yoshinoyas....
  • Walking up and down the city twice in the same day, a portion of the brooklyn bridge, eating to beyond stuffed, and still finding the energy to go out at night and do hw afterwards
So much has changed, a few years have passed, but somehow, we're all the same. Good times =)

Since it seems that there is an impending hurricane about to hit alabama/florida/lousiana, and another one forming in the carribean, it was almost fitting that it started pouring today. Nothing special. Just rain.
Highlights from today:

- Watching my friends trying to eat dinner holding umbrellas in the pouring rain, thinking that's how silly I look too, since i'm also holding an umbrella eating dinner in the pouring rain. One of those memorable moments. We couldn't help but laugh...

- Friends are coming to visit. Exciting times. Thankfully it's not too hot and my schedule is clear, so looks like lots of places to visit, things to do, food to eat, music to hear, and weight to gain...

- Sitting here at 2am, listening to these construction workers jackhammer away. Why in GOD'S NAME ARE YOU DOING CONSTRUCTION WORK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT?!?!?!?! They're grinding the roads for repaving... but some idiot decided it would be convenient to do it in the middle of the night so they don't disturb traffic. Too bad people live here. I wonder how long it's gonna take before a riot starts

- A small snapshot from a little trip out to New Jersey

Rain rain... go away

I woke up this morning and it was pouring rain. Nothing's better than waking up in a cozy bed listening to rain... and then it hit me. Nothing's better than waking up in a cozy bed listening to the pouring rain, and realizing that I no longer have to worried about flooding!!!

It must suck to be the new people in apartment 1S right about now...

School is back in session. Another semester has begun. My last and final semester of my life (for now). No more school after this. Today was kind of surreal, being back in school. Here's a quick recap of the predominating thoughts that came up today...

Disbelief - Where did the summer go? Why am I back in school already? I just left...

Elation - Seeing old faces I haven't seen all summer. It's funny how short the summer felt, but seeing old friends again makes it seem like forever. Plus, after being alone in the city for almost 2 weeks, it's good to see familiar faces again. =)

Nervousness - Woke up from a bad dream this morning at 7:30... something about having to be moved out by this friday from this current apt, and somebody chasing me through my dream trying to beat me down. Needless to say, kind of disorientated throughout the day.

Exhaustion - Mentally and physically drained. The summer finally caught up with me. I think I've been running away as fast as I could from something that's been attached to me all summer. Now that things have slowed down for school, all that stuff that's been trailing me for 3 months finally slammed into me....

But that's life.

Whatever you're trying to tell me, I'm listening God. Give me peace and rest....
